We strive to design our products to be as safe for humans, pets and wildlife as possible.
Plastic waste management
As former product designers and manufacturer, we’ve seen waste at an industrial level. It’s at a scale that no amount of individual recycling can compensate for. At THICCLY, we design for the environment from the beginning.
GrowPole series
Material
The PET material is tested for 219 toxic substances, and passed under European REACH and ROHS standard.
It is also certified to be Lead, Cadmium and Mercury free under American Society for Testing and Materials standards.
Carbon footprint
GrowPole is designed to be flatpacked without fillers. That way when it is shipped, it uses the least amount of material that gets transported around the world, lowering its carbon footprint.
Pre-consumer waste
Before any GrowPole is shipped to us, the cut-outs are fully removed for proper disposal or recycling. That way, small plastic cutouts won’t make it to the landfill, the ocean or even your home - where small animals may consume it and cause health issues or even death.
GrowPoles are sorted at the factory to recycle any damaged parts. Those that are cosmetically damaged, are sold at cost as part of our Green GrowPole initiative. Reducing waste is always preferable to recycling.
Post-consumer waste
A big problem in recycling is separating and sorting materials. GrowPoles are made from 100% PET for ease of recycling. No separating of materials is required. We only ask that you remove the fillers, it can then go straight into any PET bottle recycling facility.
RootFood series
Efficient and Pet safe by design
RootFood’s main active ingredients fulvic and humic acid increases nutrient uptake, drought tolerance and microbial activity in soil. It can be used standalone or with other fertilizers to improve their efficiency. Reducing our use of resources that can be put to other productive use.
While THICCLY’s fulvic and humic acids are not for veterinarian use, medicinal grades are administered to cats and dogs to treat a variety of ailments.
Usage of ingredients that are known to be pet safe, is how THICCLY creates new pet safe products without animal testing.
Ultrasonically Concentrated
RootFood comes in extremely concentrated format in a small bottle to reduce plastic waste. Each small 100ml bottle makes 50L of fertilizer solution. The reason we can achieve such concentration, even though humic acid is not highly soluble is through extensive R&D efforts.
We’ve designed and manufactured in-house a ultrasonic wand device to dissolve as much active ingredients as we can, and the rest is put into a fine suspension that lasts for months in regular storage conditions.
RootFood is still a deep brown solution after diluting 500x for application.
